“School’s out for summer, School’s out forever
School’s been blown to pieces
No more pencils, No more books
No more teacher’s dirty looks
Out for summer,Out till fall
We might not go back at all
School’s out forever, School’s out for summer
School’s out with fever, School’s out completely”

It seems like just yesterday I was singing “Schools Out” in celebration of summer, but now here I am having just finished up some work for my first week back. It seems like every year the first day of school comes along quicker. Not that it’s necessarily the worst thing to go back to school. I actually have some really cool classes this semester, and so I’m pretty excited. This semester I’m taking a class called History or Rock where we spend half the class listening to music, and the other half talking about music. My other classes are pretty great as well, but that one in particular makes me really happy.

I thought I would share 5 school tips, and a couple of the playlists I use for when I’m doing school work/studying.

  1. Write EVERYTHING down in a Planner!
  2. Don’t procrastinate!
    • It might seem like a good idea, but I’ve found that getting everything done early is so much better. I’ve gotten where I love to do everything as soon as it’s assigned so then it’s finished, and I don’t have to worry about it. It actually seems to take a lot of stress off.
  3. Take Notes!
    • I’m pretty sure this is where everyone groans! Who wants to take notes, am I right? Notes are basically a necessity in college though! Luckily most professors (at my school at least) post their power points online so you can print them out, and just write down the extra stuff they say. Many professors pull stuff from the notes for their quizzes and tests. Notes can be a necessity so if you aren’t required to take them now I’d suggest starting to take some in practice for when you have to.
  4. Have fun!!
  5. Take time for yourself!
    • This one kind of goes with #4, but I think it can stand by itself as well. Take time to treat yourself! It can be something big or small! I’ve found it really helps if I do something on a weekly basis! It can be anything from getting your favorite candy or food, doing a face mask, watching your favorite show, or maybe something bigger like a concert. Plan something that you’ll look forward to because even when you’re struggling with a big load of school work you have that light at the end of the tunnel.

Those are my five tips that I basically live by now when it comes to school! I know they seem like your typical tips, and that you’ve heard them a million times. These are tips that I’ve found help relieve a lot of the school stress! Hopefully they will help you out as well!

I also said I would suggest a couple of playlists that I use when it comes to school work! I’m the type that can’t listen to songs with vocals when it comes to school work because I get distracted by singing along. When it comes to hitting the textbooks to read the required pages or to study I have to pull out the instrumentals. Spotify has some amazing playlists to listen to! If you go to the browse area on Spotify, and click on Focus you can find all different types of playlists made for studying and school work. I’ve found two that have really stood out to me! I’ll post the links below so you can check them out, but don’t worry if they aren’t for you because like I said there are so many to choose from!!

Hope everyone had a great week! Good luck to everyone this school year! I know a few people are still out for summer so I hope the last bit of your summer is great! For those of you already in, I feel your pain, and I hope that the school year is going great for you so far! I’d love to hear from you about what your tips for school are, and what you’re looking forward to about this school year! You can comment below or hit me up on social media!
