“Cry Hard, Dance Harder”-Paramore

You know those times where life gets really busy and you get a bit overwhelmed? Well that’s been me the past few weeks. If you follow me on IG you may have seen my post apologizing for not posting in a while, and if you don’t well then I’m sorry I haven’t posted! School and work have kept me pretty busy recently. It’s at the halfway point of the fall semester, and that means lots of tests and projects. It’s finally starting to slow down, and I finally have a moment to write this post here! During the past few busy weeks I have taken some down time to go see several different concerts! In the past few weeks I’ve been to 3 shows, I have 2 shows this weekend, and 1 next week. This weeks post is dedicated to the first of those 3 shows I’ve been to recently.

I’ve been a fan of Paramore for what seems like forever now. They’re one of the first bands I really got into, and I got the chance to see them for the second time a few weeks ago at the Fox Theatre in Atlanta. I knew they put on an amazing show, but this show really amazed me. It was a really emotional show, that I’ll never forget.

First, I have to take a moment to give a little attention to the opening act on Paramore’s Tour Two. Best Coast put on an amazing show, and I would definitely love to see them again. I knew of them before going to their show, but I have to admit I didn’t really get a chance to listen to them. Their vocals and instrumentals were really great, and they got the crowd going before Paramore came out. My favorite song had to be Jealousy, followed closely by Boyfriend. I highly recommend you checking them out if you haven’t already! If you’re interested in checking them out, then click here to listen to their stuff on Spotify!

As previously said, I’d seen Paramore once before when they toured with Fall Out Boy on the Monumentour. They put on an a phenomenal show that time so when they announced they were coming to Atlanta on Tour Two I was quick to buy my tickets. Their new album has been one of my favorites they released because I really felt I could relate to it. It was so great to hear the new and old songs live! It never hit me how many of Paramore’s songs were hits until this concert. Their set-list was full of so many amazing songs. It’s definitely in the top 5 of my favorite concert set-lists.

I can’t write this blog post, and not talk about the lighting during Paramore’s set. They had this really cool circle light thing behind them, and I found it really fascinating. It was cool because it kind of pointed down at them, and it was different than the normal lighting you see at a lot of shows. Lights are always one of my favorite things about a concert because I feel that they really add something to the performance. These lights definitely helped add to this show, and bring an interesting aspect to it. It helped add to the other amazing part of the show that I have to talk about, and that’s the energy of the show.

The energy at the show was high between the band and the crowd. It was a fun and much needed type of energy. There was dancing and singing, and it was just a enjoyable night. What stood out to me the most was the Hayley Williams saying “Cry hard, dance harder.” With all the sad stuff that’s been happening in the world, I feel it’s important to remember to celebrate the good. It’s completely okay to be sad and cry, but it’s also good to dance. The night was a perfect escape from all that was going on in the world.

In my opinion, a concert is a place that you go to forget everything going on in life. This show was exactly that, and I couldn’t be more thankful for it. It was a night that was only about dancing and singing with the people around you to your favorite band. Paramore pushed for people to bring the energy, and to let everything out while you were at their show. It was one of the most refreshing shows that I’ve been to in a while.

Paramore is a band that seems to always put on an amazing show, and if you ever get the chance to see them, take it! They’re an amazing band doing amazing things, and I can’t wait to see them again. Between all of the great songs, and amazing speeches, Paramore put’s on one of the best shows I’ve ever seen.

Hope you enjoyed my thoughts on Paramore’s Tour Two Atlanta show at the Fox Theatre! It was a great time, and I hope if you saw Paramore on this tour that you had a great time as well! It looks like school is about to slow down a bit finally, and I hope to get back to posting on a regular basis. I have more shows to talk about, along with new albums to share with everyone! If you’re looking for new music then you should definitely check out Feel Something by Movements (click here to listen on Spotify), and be on the lookout for Julien Baker’s new album Turn Out the Lights that comes out October 27th! I got the chance to hear some of the songs on her new album at her show the other day, and it’s going to be a great album! Have you seen Paramore? If so what was your favorite thing about their show? If not, what’s one of your favorite album’s out at the moment? I’d love to hear from you! Comment below or talk to me on social media!

I’ll leave this here so that you can dance hard as well!!
