“It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas”

Toys are surely in every store, with candy canes, and more. Schools are nearing their breaks, and many parents will soon most likely be waiting for it to start again. That can only mean one thing…it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

Sure enough here we are less than 20 days away from Christmas! Tree’s are being decorated, houses and towns are being lit up, presents are being wrapped, cookies are being baked, and families are starting to gather together. For many it’s one of the greatest and most magical times of the year. It’s a time to give and also to receive. It’s a time to be thoughtful of others, and to spread a little joy and love. Christmas is one of my favorite holidays because it’s a time to embrace being a kid again. It’s so much fun to join in on all of the Christmas activities that there are, and I love being surrounded by all of my loved ones. Since I love Christmas so much I thought I’d take a moment to share some of my favorite Christmas memories/traditions, movies, music, and I thought I’d share a few pictures of my Christmas decorations as we go along as well!

Memories/Traditions

There are so many memories and traditions that I could share because I have a lot that I love so I’ve decided to do my best to narrow it down to one each!

Memory: I guess in a way one of my favorite memories is a tradition. We haven’t done it in years though so I’m going to classify it under a memory instead. When I was younger I used to love when my family, and I would all load up in the car to go look at Christmas lights. We’d drive all over listening to Christmas music, looking at Christmas lights, and just enjoying each others company. It was always so much fun to see the creativity people would put into their decorations, but the best part of it all was just spending time with my family. No phones or distractions of any kind just time with each other. If I’m ever feeling down this is one of the memories I remind myself of to make me smile.

Tradition: This is hard as there are so many traditions that I love! Before I give my main one I have a few honorable mentions that I want to quickly share. I love that my sister and I almost always exchange gifts on Christmas Eve, which always adds a little excitement to the day. Another honorable mention is getting together with my family on Christmas Eve over at my aunt and uncle’s house every year. The main tradition I’ve decided to go with has to do with food though! Every Christmas morning after we’ve opened presents we have pigs in a blanket, and drink out of these cute Christmas cups. We’ve been doing it for as long as I can remember, and it’s something I look forward to every year!

Movies

Can we really talk about Christmas, and not mention Christmas movies? I’ll admit it I’m guilty of loving those cheesy Hallmark movies that have become so popular over the years. Those aren’t the only movies that I could watch over and over again though! There are so many movies that just have to be watched at Christmas time, and so here’s a few on my list. I’ll probably end up forgetting something, but I think the one’s that come to mind cover most of it!

  • Home Alone (1 and 2)
  • Elf
  • Christmas Vacation
  • Charlie Brown Christmas
  • Rudolph and Frosty (OBVIOUSLY!!!)
  • A Christmas Story
  • White Christmas

Music

I’m one of those that starts listening to Christmas music before Thanksgiving. There are just so many amazing Christmas albums out there though, and you can’t be expected to get through all of them between Thanksgiving and Christmas. If you’ve been following the blog for a bit, and you have a great memory then you may remember I shared my Christmas playlist with everyone last year! Well here it is again this year with a few additions: Christmas Time is Here! You can find some of my favorites on there such as Pentatonix, Michael Buble, Harry Connick Jr., David Archuleta, Hunter Hayes, Hanson, and more. While we’re at it here’s a video of Pentatonix singing one of my all time favorite Christmas songs out there! Christmas music always makes this time of year seem even more festive!

This post may be at it’s end, but the Christmas season is just getting started! So for those who celebrate I hope that you have an amazing Christmas filled with those you love! I hope that you get to experience the joy of giving to others. I hope that you can embrace a bit of your childhood again. Overall, I hope that all of you can find a little happiness in this Christmas season. I loved sharing some of my favorite Christmas things with everyone, but now I want to hear from you! Drop a favorite memory/tradition, movie, song, decoration, or something else about Christmas that you love in the comments! Or if you want, feel free to let me know on social media! I love hearing about how others celebrate the holidays it makes me happy! Hope everyone has a fun and safe Christmas season! With all of that being said Merry Christmas to all, and to all a goodnight! 😉

  1. One of my favorite Christmas albums is The Partridge Family Christmas! It reminds me of my childhood and makes me feel Christmassy! In fact I think I’m going to listen to it right now.
